Fire Station

Last weekend we took Benjamin to the fire station so he could meet a firefighter and see a fire truck up close and we all had a great time! We got our own personal tour of the station and all learned a lot about the fire trucks!

Meet the newest member of the Grissom family...Nemo!

Last weekend we took Benjamin to Petsmart to pick out a fish and this purple fish was his choice! He also picked out Nemo's fire truck, too!  The name was a toss up between Purple and Nemo, both Benjamin's idea, and he ultimately decided on Nemo. Perfect choice!

3 Months!

Where has the time gone?!  My sweet baby Thomas is no longer a newborn and I am kind of sad about it but at the same time this past month has been a month full of coos and gurgles and smiles and I am loving it!  Thomas is still eating like a champ, usually every 2-3 hours.  Thomas is a pretty good sleeper.  He has been waking around 645 and then will go back down for a short 45 minute nap around 830 and then take another 45 minute nap around 1030 followed by a long 2 hour afternoon nap around 1 and a short 45 minute late afternoon nap around 5.  I would like to consolidate the 2 short morning naps into 1 long 2 hour nap around 9 but he seems to prefer the 2 short naps so that is what we are doing now and it has been working.  Thomas loves his big brother Benjamin and just smiles and coos at him.  And Benjamin loves to smile and coo at Thomas, too!  Thomas isn't crazy about tummy time but we manage a lot of tummy time throughout the day.  He really prefers to be sitting up.  He has recently started batting and grabbing at toys on his play mat or in his play chair and just kick, kick, kicks his legs while he is doing it.  I also think we may have the beginnings of a tooth coming through because he is drooling like a mad man and just chews on his finger or whatever you place in his mouth.  I have even seen him trying to chew on the toys on his play chair.  Overall the last month has just been magical watching Thomas grow and has been such a change moving out of the newborn stage.

3 in the Bed

 It was a slumber party at Auntie's house over 4th of July weekend!  And poor Matt had to sleep on the floor, although I don't think he minded!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Dallas with Auntie and just like 2 years ago  we went to the 4th of July parade!  It was pretty nice around 9 when the parade started but as the day went on it got HOT, HOT, HOT!

Luckily we had all kinds of stuff to keep us cool- ice cream, popsicles, fire hoses, and Thomas even had his own personal fan attached to the stroller!  It was a super fun parade and the festival after was just as much fun!  Benjamin loved getting to tour the fire house and spray the fire hose and Mommy loved the Steel City Pops seriously if you are ever in Dallas, check them out!  Super delicious!  After the festival we spent the afternoon at the pool followed by some much needed naps!  Happy 4th! =)
