Smile

Both boys had check ups at the dentist and both got great reports!  Benjamin loved every minute and asked a million questions.  He wanted to know everything!  The dentist even let him use the suction and water tool which he loved,  and he got to pick a T. Rex after which may have been the highlight of the whole visit.

Thomas loved all of the toys in the waiting area but did not exactly love the check up.  In fact, he down right hated it. But, he still had a perfect report.

Huge smiles for no cavities and healthy teeth!

End of School

Well, school is officially out (last Thursday) and we have celebrated the long Memorial Day weekend at the beach, pictures to come soon, but first, some end of school pictures.  Last Monday Benjamin came to work with me and he thought it was so neat to get to see Mommy's "nudents" as he calls them.

I took him for his MRI that morning and rather than driving back to drop him at his school I just brought him to work with me.

We will get the results of his MRI this Friday which will help us determine when is the best time for surgery.

12 Month Doctor Update

Last week I took Thomas for his 12 month check up which went great until it was time for his shots.

The toys in the waiting room were especially fun!  And so were the books while waiting on his pediatrician.

Thomas was all smiles until shot time!  It was a rough few minutes with finger pricks and 3 shots!  Next week we will go to the allergist to do the MMR since its suspended in egg white, but overall Thomas did great!  He weighed in at 23 pounds 8 ounces and 29 inches tall!  We love our little chunky monkey!

Follow Up

We had Thomas's follow up from the hospital on Wednesday and he is doing fantastic and is back to the happy chunky monkey we are used to.

Thomas loved playing with the paper while we waited for the doctor!

Oh Saturday

Saturday afternoon was a doozie to say the least.  While Benjamin was napping I decided to try a scrambled egg for Thomas since we have been trying new table foods and it did not go over well to say the least. First he was coughing and throwing up, then it was hives and swelling and a race to get to the emergency room. Long story short, he has the most severe allergy to eggs and had an anaphylactic reaction. Most importantly though, he's okay and that's what matters, but that's an experience I never want to have again.

Finally sleeping after lots of medicine.

Thomas was not very happy to have to stay overnight in the hospital.

But by Sunday morning he was feeling much, much better.

So thankful our sweet, sweet boy is better and egg free now!!!

Updates

Wondering what we have been up to?? Well, the stomach flu hit our house and hit it hard. Poor baby Thomas had the stomach flu for 4 days which meant extra snuggles for Mommy during the day since we were home together and then day 2 into Thomas's flu it hit me hard. Luckily by Friday we were both feeling back to ourselves. Needless to say, I didn't post much on the blog last week because all I did was sleep, do laundry and Lysol the house. And since tonight is Oscars Sunday, here's a picture from the weekend and I'll be back to regular posting tomorrow.

Doctor Update

So last week I took both boys to the Dr for their well checks, 9 months for Thomas and 3 years for Benjamin. Both boys did fantastic despite having to get flu vaccinations, and are both growing and developing perfectly.

Thomas weighed in at 21 lbs and is 27 inches. He is talking SO much, saying mama, dada, baba, bye bye, and even a few of his friends and teachers names at school. He is pulling up and cruising along furniture and is trying to stand up all on his own without anything to hold onto! He loves to clap and play patty cake and he loves to clap and do "yay" with his hands up in the air after clapping. We are trying more and more table foods each day and there is nothing this kid won't eat! Love my chunky monkey so much!

Benjamin weighed in at a lean 29 lbs and is 35 inches tall. This boy eats all. Day. Long. But he is so active that he just stays so lean. Benjamin is so so smart and is the most curious and inquisitive 3 year old. He is our little engineer, always wanting to build and put things together. He loves his baby brother and loves to play with him and feed him and always wants to make sure he is okay. Benjamin is the sweetest, my little snuggler, and just wants to please. We love our little love bug so much.

6 Month Doctor Update

Matt took Thomas for his 6 month check up a few weeks ago and he is just growing like a weed!  Thomas was 26 inches tall and 18 lbs 8 oz!  My little chunky monkey!  He had to get shots but took them like a champ and luckily he did not have a crazy reaction at the injection sites like he did last time. Such a little trooper.

Hanging out at school after his shots!

Hand, Foot, and Mouth

Has reared its ugly head! Unfortunately Thomas has caught this nasty virus and has been just miserable since late Saturday night. He's had a high fever and has only wanted to sleep, and while I am enjoying all the snuggles, I am ready for my little guy to feel better because his is completely miserable.

He did manage a few jumps in the jumperoo, but the last few days he's really just been doing this. Here's to hoping our little guy feels better soon.

Doctor Updates

We were in Lafayette over the weekend and on Sunday Benjamin started complaining that his ear hurt so I called his pedi and she called in ear drops and we started them just in case.  He never had a fever or drainage but I wanted to be safe.  Wednesday we had a 6 month visit with the ENT to check on his tubes and we found out that his left tube has fallen out and is sitting in his ear canal which I am sure is what was bothering him on Sunday because she said his ears looked perfect.  Hopefully that tube falls all the way out soon because I am sure it is uncomfortable.

Thursday I took Thomas to the pedi for his 2 month well check and he is growing perfectly!  He weighs 13lbs 8oz and is 23 1/4 inches, 60th percentile, with a big ole head measuring 16 inches.  He had to get 3 shots and ran a fever for much of the day, always the not so fun part.

Love these silly boys of mine and so thankful for great checkups all around!

2 Week Check Up

Last Thursday I took Thomas for his 2 week check up and we had a fantastic check up. He weighed in at 9 pounds 4 ounces so we got the go ahead to stretch his nightly feedings out to every 4 hours. Most nights he is eating every 2.5 hours but he's had a few 4 hour nights. Yay for more sleep! He did get a heel prick for his second newborn screen but he took it like a champ. Thomas has been pretty gassy lately, actually really gassy, and we've tried mylicon drops and gripe water and I can't say there's a noticeable difference so the pediatrician recommended I cut out dairy from my diet so that's what I have been doing. It's actually been a lot harder than I thought but I'm willing to try anything if it makes Thomas feel better because that makes us all feel better. Overall though it was a great check up!

Sleepy

I have been very behind lately and have so much to catch up on, and I promise to do that this week before Thomas's arrival on Thursday, which we all can't wait for!  Benjamin's school sent me this picture of him napping last week and it pretty much sums up how I feel today so I thought it was only appropriate to share.

What a weekend we had!  We had a great day Saturday and spent most of the day outside playing at the park with the neighbors, playing with cars in the drive way or playing with bubbles.  Saturday night though things took a turn for the worse.  We had pizza for dinner, and luckily for whatever reason Benjamin decided he did not want to eat pizza, because later that night both Matt and I had food poisoning.  Matt started before I did but by 10:00 it was full on food poisoning in our house.  Not fun.  The only thing worse than having food poisoning is having food poisoning while you are 9 months pregnant.  THE MOST HORRIBLE THING EVER!  Needless to say I was up all night Saturday so I spent most of Sunday in bed recovering and Matt and Benjamin spent the day at Kemah.  It is times like this that remind me how lucky I am to have such a great husband.
