Busy, Busy

Wow!  This has definitely been the longest blogging break I have taken!  But, you didn't think I would actually quit this thing did you?!  No way!  But... things have been super busy around here and we are all definitely looking forward to the lazier days of summer.  I recently started my Master's degree a few months ago and it has been quite the juggling act getting into a groove of mommying, wifeing, teaching, and school but I think I am finally in the swing of things.  That being said, I have LOTS to catch up on!  So, I'll just go in order...

First up... finish recapping our trip to Louisiana for Thomas' Baptism.

I had the very crazy idea of trying to coordinate a family picture with all of the cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents in Lafayette and it was quite the adventure to say the least!  Trying to coordinate 8 kids is no easy task!  But, we did manage a few good ones.

And got LOTS of quality cousin time in!  These kids LOVED splashing at the splash pad!

We celebrated this sweet boy's Baptism this weekend with lots of family and friends.  You are so loved my sweet Thomas.

It was the perfect day celebrating our sweet baby boy's Baptism.

Houston...

We have a walker!  

Thomas has been walking for about 2 weeks now, but really just a few steps here and there, however, he really got the hang of it over Memorial Day weekend and has been on the move ever since! 

Now that Thomas has found his groove he is unstoppable and is climbing and walking everywhere!
 
 
 

Weekend Fun

Benjamin's soccer game was canceled Saturday morning because of what else?  Rain!  We have had so much rain lately that I have officially decided I could never live in Seattle!  Rain, rain go away! But, we didn't let that stop our weekend fun, instead, we headed to Space Center Houston to see rocket ships and Astronauts!  Benjamin is always talking about wanting to go to outer space and the moon so I thought a trip to Space Center Houston would be a lot of fun for him.  And it was! Complete with a ride on rocket ship to outer space!  Okay, it was just a ride, but you get the idea. 

This was huge!  I really had no idea how big the plane was that carries the shuttle. 

We took the team tour to the astronaut training facility and rocket park. It was so amazing to learn how much and how intense the astronauts train for a mission. 

And last but not least pictures that Matt took from the monitor of Benjamin and I on the rocket ship ride.  He LOVED it!  And I was rather impressed that he was naming the planets before they were mentioned in the ride.  
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

First Birthday Continued

I am finally getting around to posting the last of Thomas' first birthday pictures. 

The décor was simple, a fun happy birthday banner, some horns, and festive plates and napkins.  For lunch we had barbecue and the cupcakes were from Sprinkles, and of course, were delicious!  Because of Thomas' egg allergy his cupcake was eggless and was surprisingly delicious!  It was a fun afternoon celebrating with those most special to Thomas, although a few other favorites were missed, GiGi and Popi and Nana and Pops.  After lunch and cake we opened presents and played with new toys.  It was the perfect way to celebrate our precious baby boy turning one.
