Little Painter

Sunday we spent most of the day playing outside.  Benjamin mowed the grass, played basketball and then we "painted" the drive way.  We sure are enjoying the cooler weather these days.

Boo!

We had a very busy and fun weekend visiting with lots of family and I have lots to catch up on but first just a few pictures of my favorite little guy doing what he loves, reading books!

Just Stuff

Just a few things that have been going on that I haven't shared on here, although most of you already know.  I am now the Social Studies Department Chair at my school so I am very excited about new position and looking forward to a great school year full of learning new things and many challenges.  This weekend we are hosting Matthew's fantasy football team's draft party at our house, should be lots of fun catching up with friends we don't get to see often enough.  On Monday the kids will start back at school and Benjamin will move up to his new classroom so a first day for both of us. 

A few weeks ago when we went to the library, we stopped by Clear Lake park first to play, personally I think our playground is a lot better and I think Benjamin agreed because he wasn't that excited so we headed to the library not long after, not to mention it was HOT!

Dump Trucks and Legos

We had a pretty awesome weekend around here, Friday we played at the park or outside the majority of the day because the weather was just awesome and Saturday we spent the day with MawMaw furniture shopping and having fun at the Rainforest Cafe. 

Friday morning started off with dump trucks and legos, 2 favorites around here these days, especially the dump trucks!

Then we got dressed and headed outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather!

This is the view from our drive way, it is like heaven for Benjamin!  Sometimes we just stand in the drive way and watch the trucks.  We also like to watch their progress since this is the construction on the other side of our neighborhood and our new splash park and pavillion.



Lawn Boy

I'd say we have the cutest lawn boy in the neighborhood! 

And yet again I am reminded of how desperately I need a new phone with a MUCH better camera.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!  We are headed to the Children's Museum!  

Trains

Just a low key Sunday morning we had playing trains.  Choo Choo!

Popsicles

It has been so hot outside lately so we have been cooling off the only way we know how, with popsicles, of course!

Cruisin'

Just another fun summer morning spent playing at the playground in our neighborhood.   And on the walk home Benjamin got a kick out of dumping out our ice and putting it back in the cup and dumping it out, over and over.  Good thing we were headed home because it has been so HOT lately!  

Book Worm

Our nightly routine consists of eating dinner, taking a bath, putting on our pajamas and then reading books and singing songs before bed.  Benjamin has a few favorite books that are a standard in the nightly routine- Good Night New Orleans, My First 100 Words, the dog books and the animal books.  He loves to point at stuff in the books and look at you and ask "that?" meaning "what's that?"  I love it.  He is so inquisitive, wanting to know what everything is.

Big Boy

Just curious...when did my baby become such a big boy?!  As I was going through pictures I noticed how much older and bigger Benjamin looks lately. 

Okay, now I'm off to figure out how to freeze frame time.

My Little Helper

I am so thankful to have such a cute little helper to help me out around the house.  It sure does make cleaning a whole lot more fun.
