Stomach Virus

Oh what a week it has been!  Early Monday morning (2 A.M.) Benjamin started throwing up.  And throwing up he did!  He threw up well into the late part of Monday morning and I officially feel fully initiated into mommyhood!  We spent Monday doing a lot of laundry and trying to feel better with lots of snuggles and naps!

We had lots of wardrobe changes, lots of baths and finally by the end of the day ended up with some smiles!

11 Months!

Ben is 11 months old today!  I love the happy, funny, and sweet little boy that he’s turning into. He talks and babbles all. day. long. His belly laughs kill me. He’s crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. We’re starting to (try to) teach him the word no when he gets into cords, drawers and other things he shouldn’t.  He isn't walking yet but can crawl faster than any baby I have seen.  He’s busy busy busy all day long. Eating is an adventure. He’s starting to experiment with more and more finger foods – puffs and yogurt melts and I am trying table foods when we are eating something that is soft enough for him-  but still loves the baby food.  I want him to be a great eater and love all kinds of food so we’ll keep offering him different things to taste. I’m sure he’ll come around eventually!   Ben has 4 (almost 5) teeth- 3 on the bottom and 1 on top (the second front one is making its way through right now). He takes a 6 to 7 oz bottle 3 times a day – 7am, 11:30am and 6:15pm. Bedtime is still 6:30pm and he sleeps until around 6:30am. We’re still on a 2 nap a day schedule and he does fantastic with them. His first nap is at 9:00 and his afternoon nap starts sometime between 1:00 and 2:00. He’ll sleep anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours for each nap.

A few of Ben's favorite things:

• He babbles constantly – often making Da Da Da sounds which makes Matt very happy!
• He loves playing with balls of any kind!  And he loves to try to bounce everything like a ball!
• He absolutely loves bath time and just splashes and splashes the whole time.
• He loves to sing along to the radio- mainly humming or a continuous "ahhhh" sound- and he sings when I rock him to sleep and sing him songs.
• He gives the best hugs and open mouth kisses.

Ben just makes every day a happy one. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood when you see this smiling face every day!  And it is almost impossible to photograph this sweet baby anymore because he is just on the go all the time!

Look at those thick, long eyelashes!  He gets that from Matt and I am so glad he inherited those beautiful lashes!

 

Happy 11 months sweet boy!  We love you!

Merry Grinchmas!

That was the theme at The Children's Museum on Saturday.  Ben loves the Children's Museum and that is where we spent the day on Saturday followed by lunch at the Original Ninfa's on Navigation.  We let Ben try some Mexican food and well, he definitely is not a fan of Mexican food but I am sure that will change if he is anything like his Mama! 

Balls are a favorite of Ben's these days and needless to say he went straight for the balls at the museum!

It's Begining to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Last weekend Auntie A was in town for Thanksgiving so on Friday we started getting into the Christmas spirit by decking the halls!  We had so much fun drinking egg nog (with whiskey of course!) and putting up the Christmas decorations.  Ben even practiced his present opening skills with the boxes from the decorations!

Baptism Part 2

It was such a special day shared with family.  The pictures of Ben in his blue and white sweater are before the actual Baptism ceremony.  We had to dress Ben in a white onesie and then after the actual Baptism we put his Baptismal outfit on him.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for so many things but obviously my family is at the top of the list, especially these two…

Thankful doesn't even come close!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
