Beaver Lake Part 2

We had so much fun in Arkansas.  We went tubing on the lake with Ben's cousin Ethan as our captain.  We read books with sweet cousin Annah.  We laughed with Nana Debs.  I seriously have never heard Ben laugh so much as he did with his Nana Debs.  Gringo Earl (Uncle Steve) showed us his crazy dance moves on the patio and we spent the last part of the week in Eureka Springs.  It was really a great vacation.

Beaver Lake Part 1

We're Back!!!

Wondering where we have been???  We took our first family vacation to Beaver Lake, Arkansas!  Matt's parents rented a lake house on Beaver Lake and we have spent the last 5 days there.  We just came back this afternoon and I have a ton of pictures to sort through, so for today, a picture of my little cutie all ready for his first plane ride!

We officially have a sitter!!!  Now I just need a time machine so I can slow down time.

Father's Day!

Matt had a nice little Father's Day morning started off with homemade breakfast in bed with his coffee served in the cup that Ben made him!

Super cute!  We also gave him a picture frame that says Daddy and Me on it with a picture of them. 

We then spent the day at GiGi and Poppy's house where Ben got lots of lovin' from not only GiGi and Poppy, but also his Great Aunt Matt and Maw Maw. 

I'm pretty glad that Ben and I have both of these guys in our life!  Also sending lots of love to Pops in Lafayette, we have lots of big hugs coming your way on Saturday!  Happy Father's Day!

5 Months!

Oh my, how is my baby 5 months old?!  I love this age. He’s so happy and smiley. He reacts to us and interacts with us. He’s sleeping great too which doesn’t hurt! Every night he goes down at 6PM and wakes up around 5AM….we are working on a new schedule because 5AM is a little early. He does wake up the happiest, cutest baby.  He doesn't cry, he just opens his eyes and starts talking.  I imagine he is saying something like "hey Mama, I'm ready to give you hugs and kisses, come get me!" He won’t fully wake up until the morning but he will stir in the night and will lift his legs up and slam them down onto the mattress with a loud WOMP! I have no idea how he doesn’t wake himself up doing that because it’s loud.  He loves spending time in his exersaucer, going for walks in the stroller and playing on the floor with anything that plays music. Every night he gets so excited for bath time and kick kick kicks his little legs in the water.  He LOVES his daddy and just belly laughs away at whatever silly thing Matt is saying to him, and it just melts my heart to watch.  He’s still a great eater and now eats 4 times a day – 7am, 11am, 3pm, and 6pm. He takes 3 naps a day – 9am, 1pm and another short nap around 4:30.    He puts everything in his mouth. I think those teeth are coming soon! As much as I want him to stay this age FOREVER, I can’t wait to see what the months ahead have in store for him!

Food!

At Ben's 4 month appointment, we got the go-ahead to start him on solids! I decided to wait until 5 months, personal decision for various reasons, but there is no doubt my big boy is ready for some food!  I decided to just start with fruits and vegetables instead of rice cereal or oatmeal. Not sure why we always carbo-load our babies with processed food from the get-go instead of starting with fruits and vegetables? Anyway, I decided carrots was a good start so that’s what we did! He was a pro from the first bite! 

School's Out for Summer!

Today was the last day of school!  Yay!!!  And I am celebrating tonight because I get to spend the next 10 weeks with my little love bug!  I. Can't. Wait!  We have so many fun things planned for this summer...family vacations, swimming lessons in July, music class at Gymboree, and starting the Crossing Borders program!  I'll say it again.  I. Can't. Wait.

Pool Fun!

We had a GREAT weekend here!  Saturday we spent most of the day outside, first for a walk and then on to bigger and wetter things...Ben's first big pool experience!  We spent Saturday afternoon swimming at a friend's house and I think Ben is going to be our little water baby!  He loves the water!
