Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  We hope you are spending it with those you love most.  We miss being with our Texas family but are so thankful to be spending it in Miami with Matt's family that we don't get to see as often.

Happy Thanksgiving!  We hope you get to indulge in all of your favorite foods and enjoy stretchy pants, football, and most of all those you love most!

Vroom Vroom

After a lot of rain last week the weather has been just perfect for playing outside.  So that is just what we have been doing in the evenings.

Birthday Lunch

We had a fun and busy weekend as usual.  Saturday night Dede and I went and saw Dirty Dancing at the Hobby Center and it was amazing.  No matter how many times I have seen the movie, the music and dancing never gets old.  And Matt and Benjamin spent the evening together at Gumbo Bar and watching college football.  Sunday we celebrated my birthday a little early with lunch in Galveston with MawMaw and Poppy.  We ate lunch at the Moody Gardens hotel and got to enjoy the pretty Christmas decorations.  Speaking of Christmas decorations, we started to put ours up over the weekend as well since we are leaving for Miami Wednesday for Thanksgiving.

I was really hoping for a Christmas card picture but as you can see I ended up with a bunch of funny ones.  Picture taking was just not in the cards for us on Sunday.  Christmas card picture or no picture it was a great start to my Birthday spent with those I love most.

Bedtime Sillies

Benjamin has the cutest and silliest personality and I just love it.  My next post is going to be an update on all of the hilarious things that he is doing and saying these days but for now just some silliness before bed.

I hope you all have  a great weekend!  This Mama is going to see Dirty Dancing at The Hobby Center Saturday night and I can't wait to have the time of my life! =)

Weekend Recap

We had a busy and cold weekend!  Saturday Benjamin and I went to MawMaw's to visit and Matt went to his friend Aaron's house to brew an all grain batch of beer.  Aaron and his wife brew a ton of beer and Matt brought home all different kinds-I'm looking forward to a few of those come May! =)  Whilea we were at MawMaw's we went over to her cousin Gloria's house so Benjamin could see the chickens she has.  He loved them!  He also enjoyed eating a gingerbread cookie that MawMaw gave him that was about the size of his head!  I was surprised he liked it so much since it was not very sweet and was very gingery but that didn't stop him from eating the whole cookie!  After Benjamin's cookie MawMaw used a handi vac to clean up the trail of crumbs Benjamin had created and he thought it was the neatest thing so he had to give it a try...

Silly boy!  If only vacuuming were that fun for Mama!  Sunday Benjamin got to spend the day with Matt while I went to the Nutcracker Market with Petra and Aunt Matt.  And those 2 had quite the boys day!  They had breakfast at Taco Cabana followed by an outing to Academy which consisted of new shoes for Benjamin and a crab trap for Matt-that should be interesting-followed by lunch at Gumbo Bar and an afternoon of playing trucks around the house.  Love my boys and I sure did miss them Sunday but I had a great time shopping and having lunch with Aunt Matt and Petra.

Illness Schmillness

I think we are finally in a healthy streak around here after having our fair share of sickness.  First Benjamin had RSV about 2 weeks ago and while I enjoyed the 3 days off staying home with him it was the worst thing to see my little pumpkin so sick.  About 3 days after he was feeling better from RSV he had an ear infection, which luckily with the tubes really isn't all that big of a deal anymore, we just put the drops in and clean the drainage, no fever and minimal pain.  We finally recovered from the ear infection just long enough for Benjamin to get Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease.  It. Was. Horrible.  This is Benjamin's second time to have it but it was much worse this go around.  The first time he only had the sores in his mouth, this time they were in his mouth and on his feet and to say he was miserable is putting it mildly.  He didn't want to do much of anything really for a few days so we played games on the IPad and had lots of cuddles on the couch reading books.  Poor baby.  But, we are finally illness free around here!  And our house is completely disinfected.

Construction

Every weekend we take morning walks around the neighborhood and the first spot that Benjamin heads straight to every time is the construction site.  He loves to see all of the heavy equipment.

And yes, he pushes the lawnmower all around the neighborhood.  We gotta make sure the grass looks good!  Have a great weekend!

Halloween Continued

This kid loved Halloween!  Benjamin had so much fun at his school Halloween party and was this excited even before trick or treating.

Matt's Birthday and Halloween

Be prepared for picture overload the next few days as I took so many pictures on Halloween because I just could not get over the cuteness of Benjamin in his little golfer costume trick or treating.  He LOVED trick or treating and had caught on to the idea by house number 2!  He was laughing and running the whole night and it made my heart so happy to see the joy that Halloween brought to my sweet boy.  So needless to say I took a million pictures.

Benjamin celebrated Halloween at his school with a class party and trick or treating around the school.  Matt made it home before I did and as I pulled into our driveway I spotted a very energetic little golfer running down the sidewalk.

Before we went trick or treating we celebrated Matt's birthday with cake and presents.  Benjamin had been eyeing that cake since the morning and was a little upset that he had to wait for Matt to make a wish and blow out the candles.

But was a happy camper once he got his cake.  Don't you love our fancy paper plates?  Hey, who feels like doing dishes on Halloween?!  Benjamin decided he needed to try my piece of cake just to make sure it wasn't something different than what he had.  Once we finished cake we were off to trick or treat.  Benjamin's costume came with this cute beret and golf shoes, and well, you can see how well the beret and shoes went over.  The beret lasted 1 minute and the shoes never made it on his feet.  That's okay though, he is still the cutest golfer on the course.

Benjamin loved trick or treating!  His favorite part?  Putting the candy in his bag.  And boy did he load up on candy.  The first house we went to were 2 older ladies and they just loved Benjamin.  And he loved them too.  He would blow them kisses and they just kept putting candy in his bag.  Then he would wave and tell everyone bye bye.  Halloween was definitely a scary success!
