Still 3

A few weeks ago we went down to Maw Maw's to spend the day and she surprised Benjamin with a birthday cake so we could celebrate his birthday together.  He was very excited about the cake and he keeps telling us that he is still 3! Silly boy!

Aunt Matt joined us for the fun, too! And Thomas even had his first taste of cake and ice cream and to say he liked it is an understatement. He was reaching and leaning right in for that ice cream! 

Big Boy Bed

So continuing on with Benjamin's birthday...  We had moved Benjamin into a toddler bed some time ago and he was doing fantastic, but we just thought he needed a bigger bed, a big boy bed! So for his birthday we got him a new bed and he loves it!

The first thing he did was jump on it! I need to polish the brass bed but will get to that eventually, maybe over spring break because that is a big job! But I love the way it all came together with the gingham sheets, chambray duvet and the quilt for a pop of color. And most importantly, our big boy loves it too! 

3!

3 years ago this sweet baby boy made me a Mommy!  It has been the most amazing 3 years watching Benjamin grow into the smart, silly, funny boy that he is.We celebrated his 3rd birthday yesterday at Chuck E. Cheese's with all of his best friends-Evan, Sadiq, Layla, Brayden, Avery, Livia, Alex, Reagan, Alyssa, Paige, Kian, Lindy, and Bralin.  Benjamin had the best time and was so excited that it was his birthday!

Thomas was a little apprehensive about it all but was excited to see one of his friends at the party, Layla's brother, Jude, who is in Thomas's class at school!

After the party we came home and took a nap and then opened up all of Benjamin's presents!

And spent the rest of the evening playing with new toys!

Crawfish Boil

Sunday was a beautiful day and we got to spend it with friends and family boiling crawfish!  Our friends Aaron and Rebecca brought over their new puppy, Rocket, and Benjamin was so sweet with him!  We had been telling him that they were bringing over a baby dog so he kept calling him "baby dog."  It really was the cutest.  He would cuddle Rocket and cover him up with the blanket when he was sleeping which Benjamin did not like it when Rocket was sleeping, he wanted him to play with him, so he would also pull up his eye lids and lift his lips to wake him up.  Too funny.

We also celebrated GiGi's birthday on Sunday with what else but cake of course!  It was a great end to the weekend!

2nd Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Benjamin's birthday with a dump truck themed  party with family and friends.  We hired a balloon and face paint artist to come paint faces and make balloons, and had light food and chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert.  It was a great day celebrating our sweet (big) boy!
