Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for so many things but obviously my family is at the top of the list, especially these two…

Thankful doesn't even come close!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Baptism Part 1

Saturday was so much fun!  First- huge thank you to my amazing husband who planned a surprise birthday lunch at Pappasitos, my favorite!  30 is definitely going to look good on me thanks to the Bella Donna spa day package from Dolce Vita Day Spa and gift card to Academy, and Keurig travel mug that my sweet, sweet husband gave me.  I'm not sure what I did to deserve such an amazing husband and be blessed with such an amazing family but I am sure thankful for each and every one of you!  This birthday was extra special!

We spent Saturday afternoon hanging out around the house watching LSU football, Nana recovered our chairs- I can't thank you enough, I love them! and that evening the girls went to get our nails done.

Updates

I have been MIA for almost a week- but for good reason!   We had such an exciting weekend!  On Friday Nana, Pops, and Ben's cousin Annah came in town along with Ben's Godfather Cian and his girlfriend Megan.   If you don't know, we celebrated Ben's Christening on Sunday and had lots of company in town for the weekend.  I'll catch everyone up on our weekend over the next couple of days.

In other not at all exciting news-Ben is sick!  Very sick!  I knew my sweet boy wasn't feeling well over the weekend so Matt brought him to the Dr first thing Monday morning and Ben has bronchiolitis caused by RSV, wheezing due to the bronchiolitis, and an ear infection!  I can't believe he has ANOTHER ear infection.  We just finished antibiotics for an ear infection on the 18th.  Ben has had a rough couple of days and is just down right miserable.  Last night he had a 103.4 fever but we were able to bring it down quickly and luckily he didn't run fever the rest of the night.  He has a few other medicines including an antibiotic, steroid, and inhaler.  He cries every time he coughs and just wants to be held.  It breaks my heart to see him so miserable.  We are headed back to the Dr tomorrow morning to follow up so hopefully he starts feeling a little better today.  The wheezing and coughing hasn't improved much but hopefully his ear infection has gone away.  Anyway, lots of cuddling happening here!

Here are just a few pictures from Saturday morning and you can see on Ben's face that he wasn't feeling well at all.

Annah is going to be a pro babysitter in just a few years!

Wheeee!

Sunday morning Ben and I went for a walk around the neighborhood and stopped off at the park for some fun on the swings!  This boy LOVES to swing and I just love to watch his face as he is swinging!

Saturday with Poppy

This is how I found Ben Saturday morning...

This boy is so silly- he definitely gets that from Matt!

Saturday afternoon we spent the day with Poppy.  We took care of some last minute errands to get ready for Ben's Baptism which included tasting cakes at Treat- I didn't mind one bit and we finally decided on a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting.  We also enjoyed a nice lunch at Mia Bella and did a little shopping after.  Definitely a great Saturday!

Comfy, Cozy

Just an update from Ben's doctor appointment last Friday night- he came out with an infection in both ears and conjuctivitis each eye.   He has been on Augmentin since Friday night and by Sunday he was feeling much better.

It has been so cold in Houston!  Because it has been so cold, we have been bundling up at night in our comfiest, coziest pajamas and enjoying lots of snuggle time.

Ben has mastered a new trick this week!  He is pulling up on everything now and I am sure will be walking in no time!  Lots of fun new adventures await sweet boy!

10 Months!

Well, here we are…double digits. 10 months old. I must say, 10 months old is pretty awesome.  Ben's little personality is out in full force and he’s a funny, social little thing. I hope he’s always this funny and sweet.  He’s a crawling machine these days and can get anywhere he wants to go. He is constantly on the go and is such a little wiggle worm but when he does stop and snuggle his snuggles are the absolute best.  He gives the best big, slobbery, open mouth kisses!  His schedule is pretty consistent – up around 6:30am and back to bed at 6:30pm. He continues to sleep through the night without a peep. He naps around 9am and around 1 or 2pm. The biggest change is how much fun he’s having in his crib! Now that he figured out how to sit up in his bed, he has a lot more fun playing in there than before!  Ben is a good eater and is getting pretty interested in feeding himself. He loves puffs!  We’re working our way towards other finger foods. He eats 3 times a day- breakfast is usually fruit and oatmeal, lunch is a vegetable, meat, and fruit or just vegetable and fruit and we are trying all sorts of different foods for dinner. He’s mastered the sippy cup and loves it. I can definitely see his desire for independence growing in how much he wants to hold his own spoon and cup! Here are some other things he’s doing and some favorites…
  • Talks- dada, mama, and baba, squeals and babbles all day.
  • He loves to bang spoons in the kitchen with pots and pans.
  • He loves to crawl to the doors and open and close them.
  • He’s starting to mimic us and will hilariously shake his head no all the time when we do it to him.
  • He loves to be sung to and has recently started humming as I sing to him before bed.  I love it.
  • He loves to scrunch up his nose and make a "mean face." Trust me, it’s funny.
  • When we take him out to eat or in a shopping cart, he can never sit straight because he’s constantly turning around to check out all the people around him.
  • If you tickle his sides he will really start laughing and let out the best belly laugh you’ve ever heard.
  • When he’s sitting on the floor and I reach down to pick him up, he’ll stick his little arms out to the side in anticipation.
He’s so cute, so fun, and just the best. As usual, lots of pictures so enjoy!

Happy 10 months sweet boy.  We love you!

Last Weekend

I have been a little MIA this week.  Mainly because I haven't been feeling well and then Wednesday when I picked Ben up from school his eyes were super goopy and he just wanted to be rocked all night (of course, I didn't mind- I miss the days of rocking my sweet boy now that he is such a wiggle worm) so I knew he was starting not to feel good, as well.  We are headed to the pediatrician tonight so I will keep everyone posted.

Last weekend we had an impromptu visit from Auntie A!  It was one of those where I texted her at 6:00 A.M. and said "if you leave now you can make it in time to go to the Children's Museum!" and she responded with "I'm packing now!"  We were all super excited to see Auntie A!  We didn't end up going to the Children's Museum- we had a day of lunch, shopping, and patios!

We had lunch at Monarch at Hotel ZaZa and I have to brag a little because I love the fact that we can take Ben to fine dining restaurants and get compliments from strangers about how well behaved he is.

After that we headed to Rice Village and did a little shopping.  It ended up being a shopping day all for Ben.  He made out with some super cute Christmas pajamas from Doodles and new shoes from Right Start.  I absolutely love Robeez shoes for babies and definitely recommend them for pre walkers.

After shoe shopping we headed to the Black Walnut for an afternoon snack and a break from shopping on the patio.

It was definitely a great weekend!
