Father's Day

How did I not recap this sooner?  Matt had a fantastic Father's Day, at least I think he did.  We started the day out with donuts and kolaches and gifts and then Matt spent the day canoeing with Benjamin.  Thomas is still a little too small for the canoe but it won't be long before Matt has 2 paddling partners!

Happy Father's Day to hands down the best Daddy around.  We love you!

Trains

Trains are a huge thing around our house lately.  Benjamin got a train table for Christmas and played with it often, but lately there has been a new interest, especially in the Thomas trains.  Anyway,    Galveston has a railroad museum so I thought it would be fun to take the boys down to ride the train.  Benjamin loved it, Thomas was really unimpressed and thought the train whistle was really too loud.

Thomas and I on the train.  It was HOT! HOT! HOT!

Benjamin was really excited despite how it looks here!

Ice cream and candy at La Kings afterward.

It was a very fun day at the Railroad Museum!

Thomas is finally big enough to ride passenger on the Gator and Benjamin was so excited to drive his little brother around the neighborhood!

Weekend Recap

We had a slumber party last weekend and it was so much fun!!!  Benjamin thought it was so fun to spend the night at Maw Maws, something we don't do often enough because we are only 30 minutes away.

We had originally planned to spend the day at the beach but unfortunately Benjamin woke up from his nap with a 102 fever so he spent most of the afternoon at MawMaw's on the couch watching Zootopia.

We did enjoy some ice cream cones, Thomas' first and he loved every bite!

Sunday was spent lounging on the couch since it rained most of the day and Benjamin still had a slight fever.  He did help me make dinner though and he was a super helper!

The best spaghetti sauce maker I know!

And pirate ship builder!

Sickness Schmickness

Oh what an exciting first few weeks of summer we have had!  After a week of a fever over 103, a visit to the allergist for an MMR vaccine that didn't get to happen because of an ear infection, and a visit to the ER due to a 105 fever, we finally got Thomas a correct diagnosis from his pediatrician and the correct medicine.  The culprit- 2 ruptured ear drums, strep throat, and roseola oh my!

This was our visit to the allergist.  Thomas clearly wasn't feeling well but at this point wasn't running a fever and really had no symptoms other than puffy eyes and congestion.  After a look at T's ears Dr. Chuo prescribed an antibiotic.  We continued the antibiotic despite Thomas running fever with it.  When he woke up with a rash a week later even after a visit to the ER we made a trip to the pediatrician and he was diagnosed with ruptured ear drums, strep and roseola and she changed his antibiotic because the other clearly wasn't working.

And after just a few days on the new medicine Thomas was finally feeling better!  Whew what a week(s) it was but so thankful our little guy is finally back to his happy self and feeling better.
