Hi Ho, Hi Ho

Off to the doctor we go.  Benjamin has been fighting a fever and a cough since Friday and with no relief, I finally took him to the dr on Sunday evening to find out he had strep.  Fast forward a few days and even with antibiotics he still had a fever and a nasty cough so off to the doctor we went this afternoon.

The Pedi changed his antibiotic so hopefully he gets to feeling better soon and here's to keeping our fingers crossed that Thomas doesn't get sick. 

 
 
 

Sickness Schmickness

Oh what an exciting first few weeks of summer we have had!  After a week of a fever over 103, a visit to the allergist for an MMR vaccine that didn't get to happen because of an ear infection, and a visit to the ER due to a 105 fever, we finally got Thomas a correct diagnosis from his pediatrician and the correct medicine.  The culprit- 2 ruptured ear drums, strep throat, and roseola oh my!  

This was our visit to the allergist.  Thomas clearly wasn't feeling well but at this point wasn't running a fever and really had no symptoms other than puffy eyes and congestion.  After a look at T's ears Dr. Chuo prescribed an antibiotic.  We continued the antibiotic despite Thomas running fever with it.  When he woke up with a rash a week later even after a visit to the ER we made a trip to the pediatrician and he was diagnosed with ruptured ear drums, strep and roseola and she changed his antibiotic because the other clearly wasn't working.

And after just a few days on the new medicine Thomas was finally feeling better!  Whew what a week(s) it was but so thankful our little guy is finally back to his happy self and feeling better.
 
 
 
 

Hand Woes

New Year's Eve day I had a dr appointment for a hand issue that has been bothering me for some time and brought my whole entourage along for the fun!

Both boys did fantastic and loved playing with the toys in the waiting room.  Benjamin especially loved all of the treats (lollipops) that he got while we were waiting. And while I didn't get much relief for my hand I did get a referral to a hand surgeon who hopefully can provide some relief. 

Doctor

Last week Thomas had his 4 month check up and it was a great check up all around!  Thomas is growing perfectly and weighed in at a healthy 16 lbs 9 oz and is 25 inches tall! He was all smiles until it was time for shots but took them like a champ. The last time Thomas had shots he ran a fever after and this time there was no fever but he did have a little reaction to them with some redness and swelling around the injection site. Poor baby.

Until this! Luckily it went down quickly and my sweet, cuddly baby was back to giving us those big gummy smiles!
