My little buddy is 8 months old! I really didn’t think he could get any better than he was at 7 months, but he just keeps getting better and better every single day. Ben is so fun. The babbles, squeals and giggles that come out of his mouth crack me up and make me smile. He talks all the time – just jibber jabbering away to himself in his crib or chatting it up with me and Matt. He’s also quite the wiggle worm. He isn't crawling yet but has started pushing up on his knees and can roll around to get just about anywhere he wants to be. He is just a super smiley and generally happy baby!
A few of his favorites:
- Singing “The Wheels on the Bus” – this will guarantee a smile from him every single time, especially the "driver" verse!
- Me singing "He's got the whole world in his hands" before bed
- His Sesame Street books we read before bed
- Pulling Lucy's hair- this guarantees giggles!
Ben is eating 3 meals a day – usually fruit and oatmeal in the morning, fruit and vegetables for lunch and then a vegetable and meat for dinner. He’s a good eater! He takes a bottle about 4 times a day but sometimes he’s just too busy playing! Ben continues to be a great sleeper – 6:00 to 6:00. I’ve actually even stopped rocking him at night. We just put him down, say goodnight and leave the room. He rolls around for a while but is usually asleep within 15 minutes once you turn on his Sleep Sheep and he has his paci. During nap time, he still has a little habit of sleeping for 30 minutes and then waking up but, usually, if we leave him in there for a bit he’ll go back to sleep and get a good nap. Morning nap is at 9:00, afternoon nap is at 1:00 and he usually sleeps in the car on the way home from school. He actually loves his bed and is quite content to just play in there for over an hour if he’s not sleeping. Not much makes him happier than seeing me or Matt. His hair is getting thicker, wavier and redder. I love watching him grow and can’t believe it could ever get better than this!!
