Unpacking

Benjamin has loved helping me unpack everything, especially his toys!

It is like Christmas!  Every toy is new again!  I should pack up and unpack toys more often! =)

See that dinosaur, Ben's favorite thing to do is cram as much stuff as he can into the dinosaur.

Just giving the cookie jar some hugs and kisses.  It's okay sweet boy, Mama loves cookies, too.

And later that evening my little helper helped me unpack his diapers.  Who needs to hire people to unpack when you have help this cute?!  

We're Back!

Part of me wishes we could hire people to unpack our house.  Some people say that it is so much fun unpacking because it is like opening up new stuff.  I am definitely not one of those people.  I am ready for our house to be put together.  Benjamin is definitely loving all of the unpacking though.  He is rediscovering old toys as we take them out of the boxes.  His new favorite toy (he has had it since he was 2 months old) these days is the ring stack.  The other day I sat and watched him take the rings on and off about 4 times.  I love watching his little mind at work.

These pictures remind me just how desperately I need to get a new phone.  

Moving

We spent all last weekend moving in to our new house.  We are all loving it!  The only not so fun part about moving is that I haven't quite found a spot yet for our computer so we haven't set it up yet which means no blog posts with pictures.  I promise tomorrow there will be lots of pictures though!  A couple of exciting things that have happened this week-

• Benjamin started at his new school and we are absolutely loving it.  
• The dogs are loving their new backyard.
• I am loving picking out paint colors- so far we have a paint color for the living room and main hallways-Benjamin Moore Grant Beige and our bedroom-Benjamin Moore Silver Sage.  I am a little undecided about Benjamin's room but am leaning toward Martin Senour Linen Weave.  You will just have to wait and see what we decide. =)

I have lots of pictures to share with you tomorrow and can't wait for you to see all of the exciting things that have been going on around our new house.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Hope your day is filled with love, sweets, and lots of chocolate!

Benjamin and I made Valentine's for his classmates last night.

We filled little treat bags with puffs and cookies and made little pop up cards.  There are more than 2 kids in his class but only 2 bags made this picture.

I will post pictures of Ben in his Valentine's Day outfit this year later this weekend, with moving this weekend I just didn't have time to upload pictures just yet.  We also gave Benjamin his Valentine this morning, a Valentine's Day book and a Little People Dump Truck, he wasn't too interested this morning but I know once he gets home from school he will be ready to play!

Updates, Updates!

Benjamin turned 13 months old yesterday!  I can't even believe it and while our "official" monthly photo shoots may have ended, I of course snapped away a million pictures on his 13 month birthday.  Benjamin's personality is just so fun these days.  I know those "terrible two's" are coming soon, Dr. Pope keeps telling me they start at about 15 months, but our sweet boy is still the same happy,silly, loveable, cuddly baby he has always been.  Reading books and brushing his teeth are still his favorites.  He continues to be a great sleeper with a 6:30 to 6:30 schedule and a morning nap at 9ish and afternoon nap around 1 or 2.  Benjamin isn't walking yet but is wanting to go off on his own, we are just working on that balance thing.  Benjamin loves to climb under stuff now- coffee table, under chairs, under the kitchen table, he is getting more and more adventurous everyday and is just so much fun.  I can't imagine how life could get any better!

Something else exciting that happened yesterday- we closed on our house!  We are officially homeowners!  We won't be moving until this weekend so I will post pictures this weekend of our house.

Something else, not as exciting, that happened yesterday (we had a busy day if you can't tell) we had to follow up with Dr. Pope from an appointment last week.  Benjamin had an infection in both ears last week and despite being on his antibiotics, still had a 102 fever on Friday so off to Dr. Pope we went Friday afternoon.  We followed up from that appointment yesterday to make sure that the antibiotic we switched to was working.  And it was- everything looks great!  Even though we had the first afternoon appointment, we still had to wait an hour, so below is how you entertain a 1 year old in a Doctor's office!

Check to make sure our throat is clear.

Read a few books.

Tear up the paper.



Look under the chairs.  Benjamin loves to bend down and look under stuff.

Monkey!

Benjamin is such a little monkey these days!  He is climbing all over everything!  He loves to walk around the house with his walkers and has almost found the courage to let go!

Weekend Update!

We had a great day on Saturday and enjoyed the warm weather as much as possible.  I had to tutor in the morning so Benjamin and Matthew played outside all morning in his car and once I got home we headed to the Woodlands and walked around the water way and grabbed a bite to eat at Berryhill-the food not so great, the margaritas I definitely recommend! 

"I'll take the cheese quesadillas please, mama!"

But later decided that the cap to his cup tasted much better!

It was a great afternoon!
