We celebrated Father's Day at our house this year and it was such a fun afternoon. Matt smoked 2 chickens and some ribs, which was all phenomenal, and I made this potato salad, which is always good, a salad, and this carrot cake, which was fabulous! I love Southern Living recipes, they never seem to fail me.
We pretty much just ate and relaxed all day, which was nice. Thomas slept the entire time everyone was here and I also realized that I didn't get 1 picture of Matt with the boys or the rest of everyone who was here. I have to get better about taking pictures, I really am slacking these days.

Louisiana
Last weekend we went to Nana and Pops' house for the weekend for Madison's baptism and we had the very best time. Benjamin loved getting to see Bubba, Auntie Heather and baby Madison, and of course Nana and Pops and Papa Doc! We left Friday night and arrived in Lafayette around 11, which is way past everyone's bed time. Our first night was somewhat rocky as Benjamin slept in the bed with Matt and I and he didn't fall asleep until around 2AM! He thought it was so much fun to sleep with us! We got to spend Saturday visiting with family and hanging out and on Sunday we celebrated Madison with a party after her baptism and Benjamin loved getting to play with all the kids. Thomas did great for the most part but his schedule was WAY off and he was pretty cranky because of it. I am usually a stickler for nap times because I follow the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child and believe me, the healthier a child's sleep habits, the happier they are, but we were out of town and I just had to go with the flow and let it go. It was super cute to see Thomas interact with Madison in their own baby talk sort of way. Overall it was a great weekend and even though we all had very little sleep it was so good to get to see everyone and spend time with everyone!
Auntie Heather multi tasking before the Baptism!
Sweet Thomas and Auntie Heather!
Benjamin with Cate and Ellen! Benjamin and Cate had a blast dancing all night!
Before we left for Louisiana on Friday night Benjamin asked if Pops could take him for a ride on the lawnmower again- and boy did Pops deliver! He took Benjamin all around the neighborhood on that thing!

Doctor Updates
We were in Lafayette over the weekend and on Sunday Benjamin started complaining that his ear hurt so I called his pedi and she called in ear drops and we started them just in case. He never had a fever or drainage but I wanted to be safe. Wednesday we had a 6 month visit with the ENT to check on his tubes and we found out that his left tube has fallen out and is sitting in his ear canal which I am sure is what was bothering him on Sunday because she said his ears looked perfect. Hopefully that tube falls all the way out soon because I am sure it is uncomfortable.
Thursday I took Thomas to the pedi for his 2 month well check and he is growing perfectly! He weighs 13lbs 8oz and is 23 1/4 inches, 60th percentile, with a big ole head measuring 16 inches. He had to get 3 shots and ran a fever for much of the day, always the not so fun part.
Love these silly boys of mine and so thankful for great checkups all around!

2 Months
Our sweet little Thomas J is 2 months old!
Thomas was not very excited about our photo shoot at first, in fact, he was less than thrilled.
Then the smiles started coming!

Then the smiles started coming!
I love that big, gummy smile with those dimples, I could just eat him up! We recently moved Thomas to his crib for all of his naps and for sleeping at night and he is doing fantastic! I swaddle him but leave his arms out and he loves it! He is moving to a 3 nap schedule usually waking up around 7, taking a morning nap around 830, an afternoon nap around 1230 and a late afternoon nap around 4 or 5 and bed time at 830ish. It seems to be working out great. Thomas loves to play on the kick and play piano mat and is doing fantastic at tummy time! He pushes all the way up to where he is supporting himself on his forearms and I know in no time he will be reaching for his toys. Benjamin loves to bring Thomas toys to play with and I love to see them interact together. Benjamin loves to tickle his toes, too and always gives Thomas a hug and a kiss before bed. It is the sweetest. Thomas continues to be a fantastic eater and is starting to go about 3 hours between feedings. According to our scale he is weighing around 14 pounds but we will see what his stats are Thursday when we go for his 2 month well check at the doctor. I am anxious to see how long he is because he is already wearing 3-6 month clothes and 6 months in some brands because of the length. It has been the best 2 months watching Thomas grow and watching Benjamin interact with his brother.
We love you sweet baby boy! Happy 2 months!

Fire Chief!
Lately we have been rotating between 2 favorite pajamas around here-bears and fire trucks. We let Benjamin pick out his pajamas each night and these are the 2 he requests. I have to agree, they are both pretty cute on him!
Cheeeese! Silly boy!

Little Helper
As I mentioned yesterday, Aunt Matt came down Sunday to help out while Matt was out of town and she helped Benjamin make the salad for dinner, which came out perfect and tasted delicious! Benjamin loved tearing the lettuce and tossing in all of the ingredients!
He was very proud of his finished product!
Thomas enjoyed hanging out on the couch while we made dinner!
Cutest little kitchen helpers around!

Open Gym
Matt has been out of town since Wednesday so Nana and Pops came into town to help us out over the weekend and Aunt Matt stayed Sunday night to help. And we had a whole lot of fun!
His favorite thing? Jumping on the trampoline, of course!
Saturday we went to an open gym where Benjamin will be taking swimming lessons and he had a blast!
Thomas took in all the sights from the comfort of Nana's arms!
