I can't believe I forgot to share Ben's picture with the Easter Bunny when I recapped our weekend in Lafayette! So, here it is, Ben's first time to visit the big (creepy) Easter Bunny! I couldn't get him to smile but he did decide to stick his tongue out!
"Mama, get over here right now and get me off of this big, creepy, bunny!"
In other updates, Ben is feeling MUCH better and has been sleeping through the night again which is a whole lot better for everyone! Hope everyone has a happy Cinco de Mayo!

Ear Infection!
Well, not a fun first around here...Ben has his first ear infections. Poor guy. He has had tons of congestion and a cough for the past few days and last night started running fever. I could tell he just did not feel good so up to the doctor we went this morning, and sure enough, BOTH ears are infected! So, we are now armed with Amoxicillin and hope we can get him feeling better soon! We spent a lot of time cuddling and getting lots of hugs and kisses today.

The Big D!
This weekend Ben and I headed up to the Big D (Dallas) to visit Ben's Auntie A! We left Saturday morning after saying goodbye to Daddy and Nana Debs and Pops who had came to visit us Friday night. I was a little nervous about driving with Ben by myself to Dallas but he did AWESOME! He slept the entire trip (3 hours) and I think this uninterrupted morning nap made for a much easier bed time. Anyway, after we arrived we set out for the days adventures. Auntie A lives in Highland Park and the great thing is that you can walk everywhere you need to go. First stop was Pottery Barn Kids. First, I absolutely can't resist this store and if you have seen Ben's nursery you would know this to be true, second, I needed a stroller blanket because I forgot to pack one. We picked up this super cute blanket that matches Ben's room perfectly, especially the knobs that are on his dresser. One day I will post a nursery tour but first, back to our trip. We then headed to lunch at Sangria Tapas Bar. They had live music so we opted for al fresco dining.
Everytime we called a locksmith they mentioned that because of the high security of my car it would be an extra charge. The locksmith quoted us at least $165.00 to replace my key. Then when he realized due to the "high security" of my car that he wouldn't be able to replace it, he told us we would have to have it replaced at the dealer, and that costs around $350.00. In 1 last desperate attempt to find the key, I decided to look in the car seat. I have no idea why, but there was the key. I think Ben was sitting on it the whole time because he just didn't want to leave Auntie A's! Anyway, I learned a few good lessons. 1. I am never buying a foreign car again. 2. I need to buy a key ring for my key fob. and 3. It is never a dull moment when Mama and Auntie A get together! Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
Super Hero Ben is ready to take flight! Haha, I call this Ben's super hero pose because it looks like he is ready to take off flying into the night to save someone from the bad guys!
Sunday morning this little guy was all smiles! I was feeling pretty tired so I thought we would hit the road early hoping again for another easy trip during Ben's morning nap time. Well, after 2 hours of searching for a lost car key, and we searched EVERYWHERE, I even resorted to rifling through the trash that had already been taken out in a desperate attempt at finding my car key, 1 locksmith who opened the car for us but still no key, I thought for sure we had locked the key in the trunk when we got the stroller out on Saturday, we decided to call a locksmith to come out and replace my car key.

Love
There is something so magical that happens when you become a parent...something secret just for you...something you don't fully understand until you hold your child. It's the most amazing gift I have ever been given.

Crash!
Well, another awesome day to round out our weekend. We headed down to Galveston today to spend the day with Ben's Granny, Poppy, and Great Aunt Matt. On our way to lunch at Sunflower we were rear ended while stopped at a light. Luckily everyone was okay and I was sitting in the backseat with Ben when it happened so I was able to comfort him quickly. He only cried for a short while and got to meet some pretty nice EMT's, police, and firefighters! They sent the whole crew out but luckily we are all A-Okay!
The food was delicious and we spent the rest of the afternoon looking at some amazing photographs taken by Ben's 3rd cousin (hopefully I got that right!) Armin at the DesignWorks gallery on the strand. The day was so much fun spent with family and it was a great way to end our weekend. Here is to a great week ahead!
It was just some minor damage but was definitely a very scary experience! After lots of hugs and kisses we headed on to lunch.

New Bike!
I am now the proud owner of a new to me Schwinn bike that Matt surprised me with earlier this week. Today has been the most gorgeous day so I decided to take it out for a little test spin as Ben and Matt watched from the garage. Sorry, no pictures of me on my bike, just some cute ones of my two favorite boys!
Ben loves to stand up these days and doesn't really like to be cradled unless I am rocking him to sleep. He is growing up way too fast! We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying some mexican food on a patio and enjoying this beautiful weather. Hope everyone is having as great of a weekend as we are!
