I could just eat this little guy up!

The Big D!
This weekend Ben and I headed up to the Big D (Dallas) to visit Ben's Auntie A! We left Saturday morning after saying goodbye to Daddy and Nana Debs and Pops who had came to visit us Friday night. I was a little nervous about driving with Ben by myself to Dallas but he did AWESOME! He slept the entire trip (3 hours) and I think this uninterrupted morning nap made for a much easier bed time. Anyway, after we arrived we set out for the days adventures. Auntie A lives in Highland Park and the great thing is that you can walk everywhere you need to go. First stop was Pottery Barn Kids. First, I absolutely can't resist this store and if you have seen Ben's nursery you would know this to be true, second, I needed a stroller blanket because I forgot to pack one. We picked up this super cute blanket that matches Ben's room perfectly, especially the knobs that are on his dresser. One day I will post a nursery tour but first, back to our trip. We then headed to lunch at Sangria Tapas Bar. They had live music so we opted for al fresco dining.
Everytime we called a locksmith they mentioned that because of the high security of my car it would be an extra charge. The locksmith quoted us at least $165.00 to replace my key. Then when he realized due to the "high security" of my car that he wouldn't be able to replace it, he told us we would have to have it replaced at the dealer, and that costs around $350.00. In 1 last desperate attempt to find the key, I decided to look in the car seat. I have no idea why, but there was the key. I think Ben was sitting on it the whole time because he just didn't want to leave Auntie A's! Anyway, I learned a few good lessons. 1. I am never buying a foreign car again. 2. I need to buy a key ring for my key fob. and 3. It is never a dull moment when Mama and Auntie A get together! Hope everyone has a fabulous week!
Super Hero Ben is ready to take flight! Haha, I call this Ben's super hero pose because it looks like he is ready to take off flying into the night to save someone from the bad guys!
Sunday morning this little guy was all smiles! I was feeling pretty tired so I thought we would hit the road early hoping again for another easy trip during Ben's morning nap time. Well, after 2 hours of searching for a lost car key, and we searched EVERYWHERE, I even resorted to rifling through the trash that had already been taken out in a desperate attempt at finding my car key, 1 locksmith who opened the car for us but still no key, I thought for sure we had locked the key in the trunk when we got the stroller out on Saturday, we decided to call a locksmith to come out and replace my car key.

Love
There is something so magical that happens when you become a parent...something secret just for you...something you don't fully understand until you hold your child. It's the most amazing gift I have ever been given.

Crash!
Well, another awesome day to round out our weekend. We headed down to Galveston today to spend the day with Ben's Granny, Poppy, and Great Aunt Matt. On our way to lunch at Sunflower we were rear ended while stopped at a light. Luckily everyone was okay and I was sitting in the backseat with Ben when it happened so I was able to comfort him quickly. He only cried for a short while and got to meet some pretty nice EMT's, police, and firefighters! They sent the whole crew out but luckily we are all A-Okay!
The food was delicious and we spent the rest of the afternoon looking at some amazing photographs taken by Ben's 3rd cousin (hopefully I got that right!) Armin at the DesignWorks gallery on the strand. The day was so much fun spent with family and it was a great way to end our weekend. Here is to a great week ahead!
It was just some minor damage but was definitely a very scary experience! After lots of hugs and kisses we headed on to lunch.

New Bike!
I am now the proud owner of a new to me Schwinn bike that Matt surprised me with earlier this week. Today has been the most gorgeous day so I decided to take it out for a little test spin as Ben and Matt watched from the garage. Sorry, no pictures of me on my bike, just some cute ones of my two favorite boys!
Ben loves to stand up these days and doesn't really like to be cradled unless I am rocking him to sleep. He is growing up way too fast! We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying some mexican food on a patio and enjoying this beautiful weather. Hope everyone is having as great of a weekend as we are!

FaceTime!
T.G.I.F! Whoa, what a week! This week has been so busy and now I have started to feel under the weather so I am a little behind on the blog because I have been trying to catch up on some much needed sleep, but, here is a picture of my little love bug using FaceTime. FaceTime is our new favorite thing around here, so give us a call sometime!

Weekend Update!
We had a pretty relaxing weekend around our house. I tutored on Saturday morning and the rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out with my little buddy. We didn't do a whole lot because Ben is still getting over the bronchiolitis he came down with last weekend. I did manage to cook dinner though, something that Matt has been doing a lot of around our house lately, and I think Ben was a little confused as to what I was doing because this is the look he kept giving me in the kitchen...
The rest of the afternoon we just lounged around and took a few naps. Ben enjoyed napping on our bed, and I didn't mind because I got to snuggle up with my little guy.
We have had a few sleepless nights around here the last few nights. Ben seems to get really congested at night as he is lying down and all of the congestion collects in his chest, and he just hasn't been sleeping that well. I don't mind the 2 AM snuggle sessions but I just want him back to feeling 100%. Here is to feeling better this week!

Friday Favorite!
Well I haven't posted a Friday Favorite in a while, but this one definitely deserves a top spot! As you know, Ben has been feeling pretty under the weather since last weekend. Thankfully he is on the up and up but at the begining of the week he was feeling pretty crummy due to lots of congestion! We tried the old bulb syringe and that just wasn't doing the trick so I decided to order NoseFrida and what a life saver! This thing is powered by you by sucking on the end and it is A-MAZING! You just put the pointed end with the tube up baby's nose and suck away on the other end. No worries, there is a little filter on the end so no boogers were consumed by using this product! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of Ben's booger removal but here is a cute one of him playing on his piano tonight.
Love my little Mozart!

3 Months Old!
Guess who is 3 months old?! My sweetest, happiest, most awesome baby boy, Benjamin! I don't have many pictures of our 3 month photo shoot because my sweet baby boy has been feeling a little under the weather the past few days and was not really feeling up to having his picture taken.
Ben is such a happy baby and is clearly a very good eater, too! I took him to the pediatrician Sunday morning and he weighed in at 13 pounds! Love that belly, love him! He is really starting to interact with his toys and loves to bat at the toys on his bouncy seat, loves his mobiles, and loves to play under his play pad. His head control is getting to be very good and he had played in his bumbo seat a few times and really enjoys it. He has also become quite the little chatty cathy making noises all the time and loves to carry on little conversations when I am rocking him to sleep at night.
Happy 3 months sweet Benjamin! How did we ever get on without you?!

Bluebonnets
The bluebonnets are in full bloom here in Texas and make for a beautiful picture background. I couldn't wait to take pictures of Ben in the bluebonnets but unfortunately he was not as into the bluebonnets as I was! Poppy and I headed out to a farm in Chappel Hill to take pictures but as soon as we got out of the car we were nearly blown away by the wind. Ben had fallen asleep in the car and I had to wake him up to take pictures so he didn't even have the energy to muster up a smile and it was so windy Ben was just not having it. He cried almost the whole time we were out there but we did manage to snap a few great shots.

Easter Recap!
I hope everyone had a very blessed Easter, I know we did! We spent the weekend in Lafayette where Ben got to meet lots of new family members! We had so much fun spending time with everyone and have LOTS of pictures to share. I have decided to break this post up into a few so it is not one giant post of pictures.
Here are some pictures of our first day in Lafayette.

I think Ben was a little confused in this picture because he was flashing the "hook 'em horns" sign!
This is me explaining to Ben that in this house we say "Geaux Tigers!"
And the best part about Friday was Ben getting to meet his Great Grandfather, Papa Doc for the first time!
So Sweet.
