School Pictures!

Ben had his first school pictures taken a couple of weeks ago.  Here is a sneak peek!  

They turned out super cute, I just wish they would have wiped the drool off of his bubble, but these are my favorite by far! I mean, can he be any cuter?!



Zoo!

If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals...

We went to the zoo over the weekend and had a great time!  The weather was perfect because it had stopped raining but stayed overcast for much of the afternoon which made it great for walking around the zoo.

We ended the day with pizza which always makes everyone smile!  =)

 

It was a great weekend!

Open House!

It was open house at my school last Wednesday and since Matt was out of town that meant that Ben got to come play at school with me.  Ben had a great time "meeting" all of the parents and everyone definitely seemed more interested in meeting Ben than meeting me. 

By this point in the night Ben was super sleepy but my inquisitive little guy was not going to miss anything!  He lasted all the way until 7:30 (which is WAY past his bed time!) but fell asleep by the time we made it to the car. 

 

In other exciting news around here, we had a great weekend!  Friday night it rained all night so we stayed in and watched a movie.  Saturday we went to the Houston zoo and out for pizza that night.  I think Ben enjoyed seeing all of the people at the zoo rather than the animals.  And on Sunday GiGi and Poppy came over for a visit.  It was a great weekend but today is an even greater day because it is Pop's birthday!!!  Happy birthday Pops!  We can't wait to see you in October and give you big hugs for your birthday.  We hope you have a great day celebrating!  We love you!

Rain, Rain...

It has been raining here all day and it supposed to rain all day tomorrow which leaves me day dreaming about the fun we had at the park last weekend! 

Ben had so much fun at the park.  He loved the swings and was just smiling and laughing the whole time.  Hopefully it doesn't rain on Sunday because we are planning a trip to the zoo.  

Grocery Shopping!

I was off on Friday for a Fall Holiday (not sure what for, but hey, thanks HISD!)  and I had big plans of taking Ben to the aquarium, however, he spent much of Thursday night coughing so I decided a trip to the doctor would be in order before we headed to the aquarium.  Good thing we went because my poor little buddy had an infection in his left ear that was starting to ooze.  Armed with antibiotics we headed to Michaels for a little arts and crafts fun and then to the grocery store.  We spent the rest of the afternoon making Halloween crafts and pumpkin bread.

I just realized Ben is wearing the same exact outfit that he had on last weekend at Pappasitos.  I guess it has become one our favorites!

This pumpkin bread recipe is from Pip and Ebby and turned out pretty good!  There are a few changes that I am going to make next time, but it was pretty delicious for a first attempt.  And yes, I have already put out all of our Halloween decorations.  Actually, we put them out September 1st! 

And this is the begining of our Halloween art project.  It was a fun "crafternoon!"

Lunch with the Ladies!

Last weekend Auntie A came into town and on Sunday we met Aunt Matt at Pappasitos for lunch.  I love Pappasitos and I think Ben enjoyed it just as much as his Mama!

 
































It was Ben's first time to sit in a high chair at a restaurant and he had a blast looking around at all of the people and seeing all of the different colors in the restaurant.  It was a fun afternoon!
